My Story
A Journey of Listening, Learning, and Recalibrating
For as long as I can remember, I have been curious about people—their stories, their experiences, and the deeper connections between what we think, what we feel, and how we experience life in our bodies.
My own journey has taught me that healing is rarely a straight path. It is often a process of listening, learning, adapting, and becoming more aware of the messages our bodies and experiences are offering us.
When My Body Asked Me to Listen
My own journey with chronic neurological challenges fundamentally changed the way I understand healing.
Living with ongoing symptoms required me to move beyond simply trying to manage discomfort and begin listening to what my body was communicating. Instead of viewing my body as something that was failing me, I became curious about what it was trying to tell me.
That curiosity became the beginning of a lifelong exploration into the relationship between the body, mind, emotions, nervous system, and our lived experiences.
I became an active participant in my own healing journey—learning, experimenting, observing, and refining my approach along the way. Some things created meaningful shifts. Some things offered important lessons. Every experience deepened my respect for the incredible complexity, adaptability, and resilience of the human body.
A Lifelong Path of Learning
Much of what I share today has been shaped not only by formal training, but by years of personal exploration and applying what I have learned in my own life.
My journey has led me to study and explore massage therapy, nervous system regulation, somatic practices, yoga, trauma-informed approaches, neuroplasticity, emotional healing, mindfulness, breathwork, nutrition, lifestyle practices, color therapy, sound healing, astrology, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), the Mind Change Method, Emotion Code, and other complementary approaches that explore the connection between our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and physical well-being.
I did not study these subjects simply to accumulate knowledge—I studied them because I was living them.
Through this process, I discovered that every approach offered another lens for understanding ourselves. While no single modality holds all the answers, each can provide valuable insight into the many layers that influence how we experience life.
The common thread has always been learning to listen.
The Wisdom of the Body
Over the years, I have come to believe that our bodies are constantly communicating with us.
Our sensations, emotions, patterns, reactions, relationships, and life experiences can all offer valuable feedback—not as something to judge or fix, but as information inviting us into greater awareness.
This perspective has become a foundation of my work:
What if we approached ourselves with curiosity instead of criticism?
What if our challenges were not proof that something was wrong with us, but invitations to understand ourselves more deeply?
My Experience Supporting Others
For more than three decades, I have had the privilege of supporting people through many different roles—as a client advocate, peer supporter, educator, retail manager, small business owner, massage therapist, yoga instructor, and wellness practitioner.
Each experience has taught me the importance of creating spaces where people feel respected, heard, and valued.
I have learned that people rarely need someone to fix them. They need someone who can listen deeply, ask thoughtful questions, and help them reconnect with their own inner wisdom.
The Heart of Recalibrate
Recalibrate was born from this belief:
You are not a problem to be solved.
You are a whole person with a unique story, a lived experience, and an inner wisdom that is often waiting to be heard.
My role is not to diagnose, prescribe, or tell you what your answers should be. My role is to offer a safe, compassionate space where we can explore the messages your body, mind, emotions, and experiences may already be offering.
Through bodywork, mindful movement, conversation, and integrative wellness practices, we create space for greater awareness, clarity, and connection.
I don't believe healing is about becoming someone new.
I believe it is about remembering who you are beneath the noise—and learning to trust yourself again.
That is the heart of Recalibrate.
